Why: I love picking my own fruits and vegetables. I think it's really meaningful to experience what it feels like to gather and touch your own food.  Our society has done a really good job of disconnecting the consumer from the origins of the item he or she consumes and there is a level of awareness and gratitude that comes from picking your own food.  It is grounding and fun and you learn so much through the experience.
